Accessibility

We believe that accessibility should be part of how a website is designed and built from the start. It should not depend on overlays, embedded widgets or third-party add-ons that change the content, alter the layout or interfere with the natural way the website works.

This website has been designed and developed with accessibility in mind, so that users with disabilities can access the content, navigate the pages and interact with the interface through their own assistive technologies and built-in accessibility features.

Accessibility by design

Our approach to accessibility is based on the principle that a website should remain clear, stable and usable, without requiring an additional accessibility toolbar to “fix” the user experience after the fact.

Rather than relying on an add-on that introduces controls or modifies the visual structure of the page, we aim to support accessibility through the way the website itself is built. This helps preserve the integrity of the content and reduces the risk of layout problems, hidden elements, duplicate controls or inconsistent experiences across different devices and browsers.

In practice, this means the website is designed to work correctly with the accessibility tools that users already use, such as browser settings, operating system accessibility options, screen readers, zoom features, keyboard navigation and contrast or text-scaling preferences.

Using your own assistive tools

Users who need accessibility support should be able to browse this website using the tools that best suit their own needs and preferences.

Depending on the device, browser and operating system, these may include:

  • Screen readers
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Built-in zoom and text scaling
  • High or increased contrast settings
  • Reduced-motion preferences
  • Voice control or speech recognition tools
  • Reading or accessibility features at the browser level

Our intention is that these tools can be used without breaking the website, without hiding content and without replacing the interface with a separate accessibility layer.

User interface and user experience

Accessibility is not only a technical matter. It is also a design choice. For this reason, the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) of the website have been developed to support clarity, consistency and ease of use for as many users as possible.

This includes attention to areas such as:

  • Clear content structure
  • Readable typography
  • Logical heading hierarchy
  • Consistent navigation patterns
  • Adequate spacing and layout clarity
  • Predictable interaction behaviour
  • Interfaces that remain usable across different screen sizes and devices

The goal is to create an experience that is understandable and manageable for users with different accessibility needs, without adding unnecessary complexity.

Why we do not rely on accessibility widgets

Some websites use embedded accessibility widgets or overlays that attempt to add accessibility controls on top of the original website. While these tools may appear helpful, they often modify the page in ways that can interfere with native assistive technologies, disrupt the flow of content or lead to inconsistent results.

For this reason, this website does not rely on an embedded accessibility widget to make it usable. Our approach is to support accessibility through the way the website itself is built and through compatibility with the accessibility settings and tools that the user already uses.

This contributes to a more stable experience and respects the way many users already navigate the web.

Our ongoing commitment

Accessibility is an ongoing process, not a one-off task. As content, features and technologies evolve, accessibility needs to be reviewed and improved continuously.

Our goal is to maintain a website experience that remains usable, clear and compatible with common accessibility needs and assistive technologies. Where improvements are identified, they should be addressed as part of the ongoing development and maintenance of the website.
